The singer’s recent run-in with the law cost him two nominations for the 2022 Headies.
After the disqualification of Okikiola Habeeb, better known by his stage name Portable, from this year’s headies awards, Nigerians responded predictably.
The musician made headlines after he claimed responsibility in a viral video that he later removed for the creation of the notorious cults known as the “One Million Boys” and the “Ajah Boys” in Lagos. This prompted the Nigerian authorities to initiate an inquiry into his claims.
The artist tried to limit the fallout by retracting his statement and calling his one million boy fans “followers.”

To clarify, Portable was nominated for both “Rookie of the Year” and “Best Street Hop” at the 2022 Headies, but in a recent turn of events on June 26th, 2022, the Headies Academy chose to withdraw Portable’s nominations.
Expectedly, Nigerians have taken to social media to voice their displeasure with the disqualification.
