According to a police spokesperson, the department will pursue legal action against the artist for “assaulting” a law enforcement official.
Ben Hundeyin, the spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, has said what will happen to renowned singer and composer Daniel Benson, better known as BNXN, for spitting on an officer.
You may recall that on the afternoon of August 17th, a video surfaced showing a visibly upset BNXN parked in an undisclosed area of Lagos, surrounded by armed police officers who were engaged in an argument with a bystander who appeared to be with the artist.

BNXN (fka Buju) confirmed the alleged incident with the Nigerian police in a series of tweets that have since been removed, in which he also claimed that he had spat at an officer who had torn his shirt and slapped him.
BNXN wrote;
Spat in a police officer’s face and it felt so good. I let you in my car and you dragged and tear my shirt, and start slapping me? (Sic) Nah, everybody must stop!
The police public relations officer responded to BNXN’s tweet by saying the musician will be prosecuted for assaulting a police officer and that any erring policemen would also face legal repercussions.
He wrote;
@BNXN proudly tweeted that he ‘spat in [sic] a police officer’s face and it felt so good.’ He has since deleted the tweet. The police officers will be sanctioned for their misbehavior if established, while @BNXN will surely answer for his assault on a police officer
