Capital One City Parks Foundation, a New York non-profit, hosts “SummerStage” from June to October.
On August 13, 2022, they’ll host an Afrobeat event in Bronx.
It’s one of New York’s most beloved, widely accessible, free outdoor performing arts festivals, with live acts spanning all genres.
Erika Elliott, SummerStage’s Executive Artistic Director, said:
“New York is the classic global metropolis, and we’re happy to call it home. SummerStage presents salsa, jazz, hip hop, indie, reggae, Afrobeat, soul, modern dance, and more in local neighborhood parks.
“We transform parks into vibrant performance locations.” This landmark position among the woods is the best place to hear music. Come see iconic musicians and new stars play live.”
Enoch Kofi Bannerman, CEO of restless media and Shatta Wale’s clique, also enjoyed working with him.
“Shatta Wale’s influence in the Ghanaian and largely African music industry is quite remarkable. Having known him for a while, i am confident his display at summerstage will mark another great stride”, he said.
Abass Akeju, a media executive and founder of prime music partners also stated that he’s excited about the prospect of working with the organisation, citing Ghanaian music industry as one of the fastest growing in Africa and commending the effort to bring a leading star from there on a global stage.
